iPhone screen turning off while browsing tik tok?

Anyone know how to get around this?

My mom has the 30 seconds timeout for the display but that never affected her watching tik tok videos without the screen turning off.

Is this normal? Shouldnt the phone stay on while playing video even if there is a display timeout limit?

I have also played with the attention awareness setting but it did nothing.

I would like the phone to keep the 30 seconds to turn off display when no activity but not when actively doing something like watching videos on tik tok.

Attention aware should stop it from turning off as long as you're looking at the screen. Videos can stop it from turning off but it probably depends on whether TikTok has implemented that feature.
