I just replaced the lightning connector on my iPhone SE 2016. I had let the battery drain to 0% prior to doing the swap. After the swap, I plugged the phone into a lightning cable attached to a wall outlet. The red/black charging battery symbol appeared on the screen, meaning the phone recognized the lightning cable and was charging up until it had enough electricity to turn on. I waited about ten minutes, periodically pushing the home button to make sure it was still charging. After about ten minutes, the phone became unresponsive. I tried unplugging/replugging and many different types of button presses. It won't respond. I re-opened the iPhone, disconnected and reconnected the battery and lightning connector cables from the CPU, put it back together, plugged in the lightning cable again, and the red/black battery symbol showed up again for just a couple seconds, then went away and the iPhone became unresponsive again after that.

Does anyone have any idea what could be going on? The only things I can think of are:

-The new lightning connector assembly is somehow defective.

-I see the gold-sparkly adhesive on the back of the old lightning connector. I didn't remove the plastic adhesive backing from the spot or any other spots on the new lightning connector assembly when I swapped it in, so I'm wondering if the lack of contact of the gold adhesive against metal could be the problem.

If anyone knows whether or not the adhesive backings are required to be removed from the lightning connector assembly prior to installation, or if anyone has an idea what the problem, please let me know.
