Since day 1, my new SE has been having trouble connecting to all of my bluetooth devices aside from my 5 year old $30 Anker speakers. 2 year old Bose Soundlink Mini II, connects and disconnects over and over for up to a minute before establishing a solid connection. 1 year old Bose Soundbar, says it's connected and then takes up to 15 seconds for music to start actually playing through speakers. 2009 Ford Escape, used to start playing music right when I turned it on. Now, it says "No Bluetooth Device Available" and I have to spend about a minute to get it connect.
I just spent 3 hours between phone calls with Apple and doing every software thing they could think of, and finally they said that since the new SE uses Bluetooth 5, there might be some compatibility issues. Now they want me to try updating the firmware on every one of my devices including my car. From what I understand, Bluetooth is supposed to be backwards compatible, and I've never run into this in any of the other generations of it dating back to my first iPhone 3Gs.
If you have a new SE, could you please comment with whether you're having bluetooth issues or not and what devices you connect to? I'd like to have a bigger frame of reference for when I work up the patience to call them back again.
Thanks!
