I have an iphone SE, and in the last week, everytime i plug in my lightning cable, it says "this accessory may not be be supported by this device" the lightning cable that I use are apple certified amazonbasics, I even have one which came with the iphone SE and iPad mini 4, but it says the same thing. it charges my ipad Mini 4 without any problems.

things that I've tried
1) clean the charging port to get rid of dust and lint that might have accumulated inside. it worked inititally but not anymore. I'm 100% sure that it's already clean inside

2) tried the official apple lightning cable, but it still says "this accessory may not be be supported by this device"

3) checked the inside of the charging port with my eyes under the bright sun using flashlight as well, looks like all 8 pins are there

4) i notice that when i plug in the lightning cable, it seems to be positional. I think the charging port of my iphone SE needs to be replaced or something (which is going to cost me $80 base on local repair prices)

5) tried hard starting my iphone by pressing the home button and power button, switching from airplane mode and back. i even turned off my phone and just let it charge overnight (it went from 72% to 82% after 8 hours of sleep when i checked the next day)

it's so annoying, coz this is the 2nd time that's happened, i owned an iphone 5, and 3 years later had to replace the charging port since 1 of the 8 pins was missing causing it not to charge. and now this, seems like the connection is loose or something. I'm still able to connect to my macbook air and connect to itunes and see that my device is indeed connected, but the charging lightning bolt sign doesnt show up. but it is connected.

what do folks think is wrong?
