It surprises me that Apple kept the XR. But it makes more sense now. Previously, the XR made no sense, being $200 more than the SE while sporting inferior chipset. Now with only $100 price difference, it's more acceptable. $100 more for larger screen and FaceID seems to be a better trade off for the 1 generation older chipset.

Covid and mask aside, I can see the XR becoming more popular this time around. It is the cheapest modern looking iPhone so far (notched screen), and the colors are still attractive. Will be interesting to see the projected numbers come first quarter of 2021.
 
I think the XR already is really popular. Definitely the one I see around the most. I love mine however it's too large. I can not wait to get the 12 mini.
