iPhone--Set-up with the Mac?

I recently received a iPhone as a hand me down and did not receive the instruction manual. Can one set up the various Audio Play Functions with an iMac? For instance; can I turn on or off the Shuffle with an iMac and have this function change on the iPhone the next time I Sync the units?

Not quite sure what you are asking but any adjustments in terms of audio playback on the iPhone must be made on the iPhone itself. Syncing only transfers music, movies, games etc.
