Quick question: Is the Shure SRH240 headphones compatible with the iPhone 3GS and does it have iPod controls?
 
Yes it is compatible and no it does not have controls.
I would not suggest the SRH240 at all, You might wanna go with the SRH440 they are way better and more comfortable.
