iPhone sim problem

Hey everyone,
I'm going to Germany in June, and I'm stating for about 6 months. In currently with AT&T and its not worth it financially to cancel my iPhone plan when I go to Germany. So is there anyway to unlock the phone that has proven to be reliable.
Ideas, experiences, advice welcome.

Which iPhone do you have? What is your baseband (modem firmware)?

It's an AT&T iPhone 4s running 5.0.1

You would have to buy one of those new turbo sims coming out to unlock your 4S. Otherwise, AT&T does't unlock iPhones.
