iOS iPhone Simulator No longer runs?

After updating to 10.5.5 the iPhone simulator will not run at all for me, in 2.2 or 2.1 the app will launch, hang, then tell me the iphone simulator needs to be relaunched and i can click relaunch a trillion times, it will still yield the same result.

Any fixes?
