Itunes 7.6.1.9 Iphone version 1.1.4. Same problem I've been having since version 1.0 on the Iphone. I listend to two days, 48 hours of music. Went to sync my iphone 2 days later. Only 12 songs from the last 1 hour have the current playcount and last played date infomation to sync with Itunes. All songs listen to from the last two days have been reset to 0 playcount and no last played date. If I don't sync ever few hours the XML data stored on the Iphone gets deleted for no reason. The easy way to duplicate this problem is to listen to a few songs from a smart playlist and power off the Iphone. After powering back on the iphone, all of the playlist data, last played date and play counts are deleted and set to 0 play count. I'm not powering off the phone so there are two bugs here. I can duplicate the problem more frequently by using other things on the iphone, like web browsing. If I just use the iphone as an ipod only it seems to not mess up the smart playlist data.
There is plenty of free space on the Iphone. Why is the data for playcounts and last played date so fragile that it keeps getting deleted for no reason?
I've sent this bug into apple feedback since version 1.0 of the firmware
