iPhone SMS and Camera Roll problem - 2 very easy but annoying issues

Question #1: I've got the database file that contains SMS data in the backup folder on my Macbook (OS X SL), how can I import them back to my 3GS (iOS 5.0.1) so that it is readable on my phone again?

Question #2: How exactly can I import photos back into the Camera Roll (where I have imported the photos from)?

Thanks a lot in advance, I'm pretty sure some people are facing the same problem..
