Hey guys. I just got a new iPhone 3GS, and had a quick question about SMS reminders. I know that the iPhone gives you 3 reminders of an SMS message within 10 minutes, but is there a way to have more reminders, or change the sound of a text message?

I work as a systems administrator, and occasionally get text messages notifying me of a server outage. If I'm sleeping, I want to be sure that I wake up in case of this. I'd preferably like to accomplish this without jailbreaking the phone...

Nope, no custom SMS sounds unless you jailbreak.

I suspected as much. Thanks for the response.

Anyone else know a workaround for this? I'm wondering if an SMS can trigger an email/phone call or something of that nature.

Thanks again.

Not that I know of, but if you hook your phone up to a stereo at night all sounds come through it and can be as loud as you want.
