what i realized is that the iphone speaker quality is horrible, BUT, when the same music is used as a ringtone it sounds much better. im thinking its the equalizer, so, which equalizer is used for the ringtones. is is "off" or something else, i would love to have that quality for the ipod.

I am not sure, but Steve said during the keynote that audio has been improved on the iPhone. So hopefully we have a better speaker.

Speakerphone quality/volume has been the number one annoyance for me. It's simply too low to hear anything to be usable as a speakerphone. Speakerphones on the cheapest other cell phones are MUCH louder and clearer than the iPhone's. I really hope they have fixed it for the 3G iPhone, because for me it is unusable unless I am in a dead silent room.
