iPhones for the longest time were ridiculed for their speaker quality, just got my iPhone 8 today and am quite impressed with the speakers! Very loud, bass is much deeper than expected!

Don’t know about ridiculed; generally I found the speaker output on iPhones to be some of the best in the business.
Obviously the 7 improved things dramatically, but the 8+ is WAY loud compared to my 7+.
Realizing that these are small smartphone speakers, I, too, am impressed with the improvements made to the speakers on my 8 Plus over those on my 7 Plus. Definitely a big plus in my book.
According to Apple, the stereo speakers have improved 25% with more bass Over the iPhone 7 speakers. And I thought the 7 Plus sounded excellent with the stereo speakers as it was.
