i have a iphone 3gs which i think its bricked and ive created a custom firmware etc trying to restore and keep getting errors 2009 and 1618

where am i going wrong
 
yeah my bad i apologize.

ive managed to fix it, its now working etc but now everytime i turn it off its goes into recovery mode
 
ah right it was on ipad bb ive managed to downgrade it ( i thought i bricked the phone lol ) installed cydia ultrasnow its working now so your saying its a trip to apple store then?

also its a old bootrom dont know if that makes a difference

Yeah, but you'll need it to be running stock 5.1.1, unjailbroken because they will not help you if the device is modified in any way.
 
If it runs normally and just turning it off causes it to malfunction, then hardware is a possibility.

As far as the firmware being scrambled up, I believe that is due to "operator error" as I like to call it (based on all the preceding posts).

yeah thats true so its def a hardware issue it did have the ipad bb but managed to downgrade it

the seriel is 929? was it compatible in the first place?
 
yeah i made a rookie error i still dont know why i reflashed the ipad bb again oh well learn by your mistakes lol and so hardware issue is the problem going to cost me a bit as not under warranty
