Iphone stuck in recovery mode

I have an iphone 4 I bought from someone that's stuck in recovery mode. The screen was broke so I took it apart and fixed the screen and I saw the person had it jail broke and I was gonna restore it to delete all there stuff off and when I did it went into recovery mode. Have tried using terminal and everything else and can't get nothing to kick it out. Anyone have any suggestions
