Iphone stuck in recovery

So my iPod touch 4g got stuck in recovery after I tried to downgrade it to 4.3.5 from 5.0. I tried tiny umbrella and reboot but neither do anything, they look like their working, but then iTunes opens and tells me my iPod touch needs to be restored and it bounces back to recovery. I also tried exiting recover using redsnow. I then tried simply restoring my iPod to 5.0.1 because i just wanted it to work again. I got an error saying that it wasn't a good build or something. I am using a mac running on iOS 5 lion. Please help i think its broken!
