I would have been surprised if it fell on a hard surface. But in a forest it probably fell on soft ground plus three branches and leaves can soften the fall.

Exactly, it could have even survived without a case because the Motif is not a protective case against drops.

maybe some trees broke the fall. I would probally rather drop my iphone 1000 feet into a forest with tons of trees than 100 feet or less onto concrete. (wouldn't recommend either) then again I don't really know how high 1000 feet really is lol
