I find a open wireless network at our house, but there is only one room able to get this connection

So I wounder if there is a way that the MacBook can take the signal and make is stronger, like an airport express

if thats not possible, can I have my iPhone take in the WiFi and then share it to my MacBook with USB cable so then my MB can internet share that connection?

Iam in US and I dont have any sim for US use, I know there is 3G and 4G in the area, but Iam not here so often so it's worth looking into and this is more fun and high tech :D and would be cool if it could work

thanks
