iphone taking credit?

i recently bought an iphone on pay as you go, and the last couple of days my credit seems to be disapearing. i done the "lend us a quid" service from o2 today, sent one text message, then later on went to send another and my balance had suddenly changed to £0.00.
any idea why this is happening?!
