iPhone text editor that syncs automatically

I need to create & edit small text files on the iPhone (3GS) and have them automatically sync to my MacBook (OSX): is there any software that will do this?
Notes appear in the Inbox, which is a pain, and is unstable (loses files, reverts to previous versions, duplicates files).
FastKeyboard doesn't seem to synch from the phone to DropBox.
Any suggestions?
