iPhone to cost $600 + $700 w/out contract

ATT is going to start selling the iPhone 3g 8gb and 16gb for $600 and $700 respectively. I wonder who would pay these prices, when you could sign a contract and cancel and pay lesss for the phone.

Yeah this really is ridiculous. And to make it only available to current customers? Even stupider. Signing up fresh and terminating the contract is cheaper.

i wonder if Jailbreak/Unlock prices will go (way) down on eBay for Jailbroken 3G's

They are usually around this price range if you are paying for a 'new' one

The 16gb is going for $550-600 average on eBay, unlocked. Why would anyone pay 700 and use it on ATT anyway.
