iPhone to external display

Can anyone offer any guidance related to using an iPhone and displaying it's contents on a projector? An example of this would be how demos are done at Apple keynote events. I am able to get this to work for "videos" (movies, podcast, tv shows) but not for other content like slingplayer, etc....

You have to jailbreak and then there are applications you can use
