I just transferred my 16 pro to 17 pro using a direct cable connection and noticed that none of my messages are showing on the 17 pro. If you go into storage it is showing messages taking up the same amount of space on the new phone as the old one but not showing up on the 17 pro. Has anyone else seen this and if so how did you correct it?

I’m having same issue didn’t get any messages over to my 17 pro max from 16 pro max I also didn’t update to the day 1 update first did you?

I had the issue as well. I ended up installing the update and trying again device to device and my messages showed up. Didn’t want to try from my computer backup in case the update isn’t what fixed the issue.

I ended up transferring through wireless vs cable and it worked this time. It took me a few resets before the phone would let me go through the process. First time in years since I had any issues with the transfer. All seems good now and the phone is great

17 PM. Mine transferred with no issues. Took a bit for everything to sync. I did not do the new IOS 26 update until later.

How was the new install ?

Mine didn't work the first time and had to chat with Apple.

They had me wipe and restore from my Mac backup.

Took over and hour, but finally all restored!

I have my old iphone backed up to my computer. Is the best way to restore from this backup?

I have the air but I haven't had time to restore it yet. But I'm a bit worried after seeing this thread.
