iPhone Troubles...Won't Charge and Vibrates All The Time (Error 0xE8000001)

Just recently, my iPhone 3g has been acting up. It will randomly vibrate numerous times in a row (not that big of a deal) but now whenever I plug it in, it gives me an error message. Sometimes it will sync up, but then disappear from iTunes altogether. When plugged in, it will keep vibrating on and off switching from the battery display screen (charging) to just the background (as if it were unplugged) screen. The most common error message I get is 0xE8000001. Thank you for your help!
