I just bought the component cables for the iphone to hook up to the tv and it turns out the iphone wont play any of videos on the tv. It plays on the phone itself and there is sound coming from the tv but no video. However, when I go to the youtube video app it works on the tv. Is there anyway to get it working or is it just disabled by apple? Thanks

Check .... Settings/iPod
Go down to TV Out and see what it is set for.
Try turning on any off settings .... like on mine Widescreen is set to OFF
Don't know if that's your problem as I have never tried to do what you are trying, I hope it helps!

Works quite well for me. I didn't even have to adjust anything in the iPod settings.
Are these videos/movies sync'ed from iTunes, or from a JB app like Cycorder?
Shouldn't matter, the Cycorder videos *should* play...
Check your cables. Did you need Composite or Component cables? Are you getting color or only B&W on the YouTube vids?
