iPhone TV out: what shows, what doesn't?

My iPod will send slideshows to TV, but it won't send the UI, nor anything about the current song or album art. No games either.

If you have the iPhone video connection kit, what can it send to TV? Everything that's on the screen? Or only certain apps? Does it show anything while music is playing?

I had the tv out kit (until my dog chewed it up) for my iphone, it only outputed the video when the phone started to play it (it didnt show Ui or anything else). I never even thought to use it to play music through the Tv though so i cant comment on whether it shows song info etc.

Nope it doesn't show anything while playing music

Songs - but only if it has album art for some reason. Even though the album art doesnt actually show on the TV

haha. That was a fair question. I should have clarified that there is a screen built-in to my car and having the GPS from the iphone display on that screen would be ideal.

Since the 90's I think it's been possible to have TV in your vehicle.
