Hi all,

Question for UK users who have claimed a phone on insurance, as I did a while ago. Are the replacement phones locked to a network? I was on O2 and had a claim a new one as I dropped my phone and cracked the screen.

I have left the replacement phone (a 16GB 3Gs) sealed in the box thinking I would sell it when I bought the iPhone 4, but am now wondering if the replacement phone would be network locked.

Any advice very much welcome!

They would be the same as your old handset, so if on O2 - it would be locked but you can unlock it via the O2 Unlocking Website.

Is this definitely true? The complication being that I have just ported my number to Vodafone...
