My iPHone 3gs was working great but had no battery life so I replaced the battery.
After replacing the battery I had no ear speaker function so I tried a system restore. It got stuck at the very end and says Unknown Error....
I tried system restore multiple times on 2 different computers with the same result.
I downloaded Redsnow 9.10b1 and used the "Get out of recovery mode caused by itunes restore error." button.
Now it boots up fine, I have full functionality, wifi, phone, etc for about 3 minutes then sudden shut down with automatic reboot. It loops infinitely.
I have since replaced the ribbon 3 cable with face proximity sensor and now the ear speaker works well.
Since replacing the ribbon 3 I again tried the system restore with the same result and redsnow with the same result.
How do I go back to an older version on the phone or is this not a good idea?
I am using itunes 10.5, no other USB items plugged into the computer and the phone has iOS 5.0.1 and have tried it all in DFU mode as well.
Thanks in advance.
