If i buy an iPhone and the unlock software from http://www.iphoneworldwideunlock.com will i still have to activate or is there a way around. I'm wanting to use iPhone on Orange here in the UK.

the unlocking process (use the phone with any sim anywhere in the world) and the activation process is two different things. There is software all around that will let you activate your iphone but you cant make calls without an an AT&T simcard. So basically you will have a ipod and a mobile web browser when connected to wifi.
Before you can unlock your phone you need to (fake) activate it and jailbreak it. Most of the current software around does both of them for you (like independence). Once you have done that you will be able to install the unlocking software from IPSF and unlock your phone.
