iPhone update for more than one iPhone

every time i update my iPhone i wanna update my dads to. well when i hook the second phone up it wants me to download the update again. is there a way to update both iPhones only downloading the update once?

As longs as they are the same model, it should only download the update once. What are the two iPhone models?

Different model iPhone uses different firmware. That the reason iTunes downloads it again (different firmware) when you hook up and update your dad phone.

i see that now cause i noticed the files size for my iPhone update was different than the one for his.
