I just seen this morning my local apple store 10 mins away got a few iPhone 7 Plus models in. I stutter stepped because i wasn't exactly sure if i could possibly switch to the ATT next method of pay in store. I did find out you can. Of course they sold out. But my question is.
I do have a line that is free for upgrade, however i was thinking about dropping it and saving $15 a month on my bill.
What i was thinking about doing is selling my current 6s plus i am getting bill credits on that was part of a buy one get one via att & put that towards the 24 installments of the 7 plus. So if you think about it i would only be paying a large chunk of the 7 plus from selling my 6s i got for "free" or $650 bill credits worth over 24 months. My fiance used her upgrade to get a 6s plus a bit ago, and to take advantage of the get one phone "free" i just opened a new line on our account & took one for the team and got a new number via the promotion at the time. I figured i would just drop my old number eventually & she is the only one that calls me.
ATT never cares what you do with the phone on NEXT so long as you pay for it OR keep the line open. I have been with ATT for over 10 years so i am not leaving. I just figured this is a crafty little way to push me to the upgrade. I would still be using my same number BUT i would be just swapping to the 7plus. I could probably just pop my sim in.
So by doing the iPhone installment for 24 months, this doesn't impact your ATT contract or NEXT at all right? Its essentially like you buying a unlocked phone, as ATT will see it? It did say on the checkout screen att terms "no contract". I just want to make sure it doesn't screw up the remainder of the bill credits i am getting on that free line.
Confusing i know lol.
