Every year I do the iPhone Upgrade Program. This year, as usual, I boxed up my (and my wife's) old iPhone 16 Pro Max to return it to Apple. Unlike most years, this year, the return box was being sent to Indiana instead of somewhere in Northern California. But, whatever.. I boxed up the phones and sent them back...

They were both received on September 30. The website showed that the phones were received and that Apple would provide an update in 24 hours. Spoiler: They did not provide an update in 24 hours.

Days later, on October 4, I got an email that my wife's phone had been inspected and the trade-in was completed (and the loan closed). Yay! Meanwhile, my phone is STILL, as of this post on October 7, pending inspection still.

Is anyone else experiencing such long delays in having their iPhone inspected and trade-in completed? It's been over a week now, and I'm still waiting for the resolution. Very frustrating, and of course, I'm concerned that FedEx stole the phone out of the box, etc.. and *that's* why it's delayed in being dealt with.

What's happening at Apple this year? This isn't what I expect from Apple...

Maybe you can keep an eye out you never know if Apple already inspected the phone and funded you the trade-in could easily be a system error. Happens to me all the time for orders in general not just with Apple but from other companies too

Of course the day after posting this my trade in finalized. Just a lot longer than 24hrs.
