IPhone Upgrade Question

Will this senerio work.

I upgrade to whatever IPhone comes tomorrow without a AT&T penalty for 2 years contract.

My wife is eligible in January 2012 but waits to IPhone 5-6 lets say next summer/fall.

When she gets the IPhone 5-6 I give her my IPhone 4S-5 and I take the newer IPhone 5-6.


Is the possible?

I am a huge Apple fan and she really doesnt care which phone she has.
