iPhone Upgrade
You can take advantage of our no commitment pricing at a participating retail sales location. You may qualify for a full discount on a standard iPhone upgrade on 08/30/2009

This is what I got on the AT&T website about upgrading. I have an 8GB iPhone 3G that I got in August 2008, but used someone else's upgrade. I was wondering if the "iPhone upgrade" means on August 30, 2009 I can get the iPhone at it's normal $99/$199/$299 prices or they will be the $299/$399/$499 partially subsidized prices? I currently can not get the $299/$399/$499 prices (but other people on my account can upgrade). Can anyone help me with this?

Well, I had similar language and I called AT&T. But I will give you the answer.

It means (and I have verified this three times over the phone and once in writing) that today you can get the phone for the full retail price. As of 8/30/09, if it has been 1 year since you owned your phone you can get the fully discounted pricing.

I was given a third option of the $200 off pricing between 7/30 and 9/30.
9/30 is my upgrade at the fully subsidized price date.

Thank you for your answer, but I'm not given this option. When I go to the "upgrade" section on AT&T and it gives me all the phones I can upgrade to, the iPhone isn't on there. But when I look at the phones I can upgrade to on another line on my account, they have the option to upgrade to the iPhone with the $299/$399/$499 prices.

He said he used someone else's upgrade to get the 3G, so he's eligible for the $199/$299 on 8/30.

best upgrade price....

The sweet upgrade price won't show until that actual date is reached.

I have mid July so am awaiting that. Then it's the 32GB. Just counting the days.

If you go to apple.com and enter your acct info, they have a system that will tell you what AT&T wants you to pay for the phone. Not sure if this is something different, but I hope it helps anyway :)
