Hi all
I am moving to Italy for 6 months in October and would like to have an iPhone for use during my stay and travels. Does anyone have any advice on whether I should get the iPhone in Italy or the US?
What I have found out so far is:
1. I can get an iPhone for 600 euro and have no contract in Italy (pay as you go), but could I use this phone when I get back to the US?
2. The AT&T international plan is WAY to expensive for a 6 month stay.
3. I could get a 1st generation iPhone here in the US and possibly unlock it and get a SIM card in Italy and use a pay as you go. Is this really possible?

Thanks!
