I'm an Iphone user and I have been running it on Orange now for 2 months... The cost of using the web has been a real low point for me... I'm a high end Orange user... average bill of around £300 a month due to travels but with using the web the bill has been huge... I added a package of 85mb a month for £40 extra but after one month I was already hitting 125mb so decided to shop around...
I have now moved to T-Mobile for a package including free data and I have to say its amazing... the page loading and connection to the web is way faster than Orange has ever been so I'm glad I made the jump

Its worth looking into if you love the web on the phone
