Those of you with the problem try pushing a plastic pen hard onto the left seam wile holding the glass and see if this produces the no signal effect!

in this case it might be a weak point in the design flexing the case into the internals!

I'm not pushing anything into my phone that isn't designed for it... Don't think she'd appreciate that none too much.
 
Trying to work out if the bottom of the band is arcing at that point or bridging the seam grounds the antenna back up the dock ribbon cable to the internals!

Not a bad thought, but I can press pretty hard into that spot with a nonconductive object (a cardboard box of business cards) and nothing happens. Touching it lightly with my finger causes an almost immediate signal loss.
