iPhone vibrates all the time

The alert noise that goes off is not assigned to anything when I check my settings.
This is mildly rubbing me against the wall.

There should be a reason why the alert is going on. It could be a default setting, but you'll need to id the alert

it goes off while I'm using it without anything appearing and no new numbers on any app icons

There is something that is setting it off. you have to try to find that. If not, do a set up as a new phone to fix it.
