Hey there.
I've put my iPhone 5 to charge for the first time this morning and noticed something weird. I'm using my iPad's 10W power adapter and the lightning cable included with the phone.

If I hold the phone while it's charging, no problem.
If I put the phone on a table and slightly rub the polished part of the bezel I can feel it vibrate because of the static. (Kind of what happens with the MBP if you don't use a grounded adapter).
Also, if I put the screen down so I can rub the back aluminum plate, same thing happens, a little stronger, maybe x2.

Again, if I hold it in my hand... nothing happens.

Have you guys noticed the same thing?

Found this.

I had this issue with my MBP when not using a grounded charger. I didn't ever feel it with my 4S so that's why it surprises me to feel it with my 5.

In Europe we've got 220V instead of the ¿120V? that you have in the US. That might be a reason?

Next time I charge I'll try doing it from a USB port of my Mac. We'll see.

Anyways, someone else experiencing this?

Stop freaking out. It occurs because the device isn't grounded properly - I'm guessing your European power plugs don't have a third ground plug?

Don't worry about it. It's normal. I experienced the same thing in South Korea (no ground) with my American 15" Mac.

We have the third connector, it's the apple adapter which doesn't.

What worried me was the fact that I was using the same power adapter as with my 4S, which never had this issue. That's why I wonder if other people have felt it with the 5.

Not trying to make a big deal out of it. I know this is a regular issue with computers. Just wanna know I'm not the only one whose 5 does that!

It's normal. Have had it happen with 4/4s and also the original iPhone as well.
