i downloaded app "video downloader" from app store. It allows me to download any videos from the web, while safari doesn't allow to do it. Can i catch a virus by downloading any video i want? (i'm interested if any downloaded video from this app can harm my iphone 4s). My iphone 4s isn't jailbroken. Thanks in advance:)
 
And can you explain why can't it happen? I also tried app from App Store which allowed me download wallpapers to my phone. Is it also safe?
 
Yes, but In fact i only downloaded the app from App Store but the videos from some websites

Aren't any videos supposed to have viruses when you download it? Can't it affect ios? I've heard that some videos on the web have hidden harmful programs. And when you download them you may catch the virus. Please can you answer this? :)

Videos are videos, they are not applications, and in (non-jailbroken) iOS anything that actually executes on your device (as in installing something, which a virus would need to do) can only come from the App Store essentially.
 
Understood, but what happens if you download a video with hidden malware? Don' t you get virus?
 
You say the video file isn't malware but i say it can have some harmful programs hidden in it which appears after downloading it, can't it?
