This is my first time using an iphone video recorder.
Every once in a while it just stops recording on its own. I am doing
some recording of some piano playing and every now and then it will
make a beeping noise and turn off in the middle of a recording. Any
idea what is causing this? Are there memory limits on the amount of
videos you can have stored on the phone?

I've had my 3Gs take a two hour video of the inside of my pocket before. It got very hot but kept going. I don't see why it would want to die on you.

I've had this problem a few times too -

When all is working correctly, an iphone 4 will record in the neighborhood of 50 minutes of video before reaching a max file size. The 3Gs did not have this problem and could record for hours at a time, since the resolution was significantly lower.

I have, however, sometimes seen my phone stop recording after 1 or 2 minutes, without any input from me... I haven't yet figured out what's causing the problem...
