I keep hearing all this talk about iphone viruses once in awhile, are there any? what are the signs of having one?

Unless you jailbreak your iPhone, it's pretty hard to get a virus on it. Not impossible, but most people never come across a virus. And if you did get one, I don't think you'd be able to tell. But, luckily, you can always restore your iPhone from iTunes if you ever feel like you have a virus and you'll be good to go.

Only if you're jailbroken AND you install SSH AND you leave it on while connected to foreign Wifi networks AND you leave the default password on. Otherwise if you're on a firmware < 4.0.2 you're vulnerable to the exploit used in the star jailbreak jailbreak or not.

It's like being in love. You will know, but not before then.

Virus? Are you all serious? Please show me any evidence of an iPhone "virus", jailbroken or not. I've only seen a PDF or SMS exploit that was patched up in OS 3/4. I believe that no actual harm was done to anyone's phone in the meantime.

Just don't worry about it and enjoy your expensive phone.

The Signs of an iPhone virus.

The wallpaper changes to rick astley.
Ringtone changes to Never gonna give you up.
and you look like a pansey when your phone rings.

It was a proof of concept written purley for jokes.

I will provide a weblink when i get home as i do not wish to search for iphone + virus + rickroll while at work.

You can only get a virus if you are jailbroken, and the only virus is nothing to worry about

This statement couldn't be more WRONG......

There is a virus out there that use the PDF exploit on 4.0.1 that affect all devices even if you are NOT jailbroken. it is a low risk virus since most people either patch it using jailbreake or upgrade to 4.0.2+.
