Ok this is my only complaint about the iPhone:
Whether headphones are on or not all apps achieve much higher volume than the a conversation on the iPhone with another person!!

Why can't apple make the iPhone phone call volume that is currently max about half the possible volume level?

I have family and friends that are low talkers - and those that talk normal my vehicle is loud I want to go louder, all the apps are loud enough why can't the phone call volume be louder?

So that is my rant - please if you agree just let me know and if you don't agree please don't be mad at me I just want some volume.

(And yes, I hate when the guy next to you is screaming on his phone in public but I think with a soft volume then people typically talk louder)

Correct me if I'm wrong but... when you're getting a call the speaker you hear it from is the ear speaker. For an app, it's the one on the bottom.

To recreate the same loudness, you could try to put it on speakerphone.

Yes you are right but that is why I said even with headphones on. When I take a call with headphones on it does not go as loud as when I am playing Real Racing. I see what you mean technically they are coming from a different source - but even if you record a memo with the built in app it will be louder (play back through the same speaker not through speaker phone speaker)
Did that make sense?

I guess I am trying to just get the option to go louder since the speaker can handle it not that it isn't loud enough when like say my mom is talking to me on the phone.

I had the same complaint about the 3G before OS 3.0. Before that I had to put someone on speaker and then put it to my ear to hear someone. Now, it works like it should.

I agree with you, I want some more call volume too!

If you use the new 3G S headphones or the Apple In-ears (What I use) you can hear great. Stereo phone calls is so weird, I have to leave the left earphone out.

How about more Bluetooth headset volume? It is absolutely awful.

I agree cader. It's not just you or your phone. iPod, apps, pandora, etc are all perfectly fine through the external speaker but call volume including voice mails definitely lack in the volume department on both the earpiece and the external speaker. I thought it was just my phone at first but tried a couple buddies 3gs's and they were the same way. Please steve, if you read these forums, crank up the call volume a bit for the next software update.
