So i'm an annual upgrader to the iPhone since it's inception.
For last 5yrs or so, I've buying new phone at Apple directly for full-retail unlocked, and using their trade-in to sell them my last year phone. Worked fine for me.
So looking this year: Apple will buy my 16ProMax for $700, and the new 17 ProMax phone is $1200 so my annual cost is $500 or $41/mo.
However, when trying to understand the att "next anytime" program. It appears I may have been overpaying?
Here is my math:
Trade 16 ProMax and signup for Next Up Anytime. I would get the att trade-in $1100/credit so my monthly over 36mos for $1200 17 ProMax is $2.77 + $10/mo NUA fee = $12.77/mo
here is my confusion
12 months from today, I go back to ATT and trade my 17 ProMax, for what will be the 18 ProMax using the NExt-Up anytime program.
assuming price is same $1200, would I still get the trade-in Promo of $1100 for what will be 18 ProMax or would I NOT qualify for trade-in promotion pricing?
If yes, than it appears I'm overpaying. the spread between $41/mo and the $12.77/mo?
almost seems to good to be true?
