Bought a 3G from a friend. It does not currently have active servive on it. I checked online, and the warranty is active. But the round "Home" button does not work.

I have another Iphone that is active, but on that one I am using a Blackberry SIM for data only.

If I bring the unactive one to Apple, will they swap it even though it is not active? Or, should I put my Blackberry SIM in. Will they care?

I will go there tommorow morning. What is the best approach?

It has the old disactivated SIM from my friend. Jusr leave that in there?

Just take it in, they wont care. If it is in fact under warranty they should just swap it out.

Shouldn't matter if you have service or not.

Yes just take it to a Apple Store, as long as it still under warranty, I would put in your sim card just to make it look active.
