iPhone white screen of death with FAULTY sleep buton

as mention, my friend iphone 3gs, which already lost the volume button and jamed sleep/wake button, now has gotten the white screen of death, the iphone has a passcode which prevent me to connect to itunes. The iphone is running on ios 4.2 and the iphone is out of warranty coverage, any help to get it up and running? thanks.
