Does the Wifi on an iPhone work without activation (I know sprints phones do). Also if so, can you take pictures and e-mail them without activation?

If you jailbreak prior to activation, it can do all of that, plus more.

Without Jailbreaking it, you can't even get into the main OS.

Apple iPhone 16GB Ver 2.2 2nd Gen has a camera on it right, so how is the quality?

or better yet, how is the quality in comparison to the 3g?

Uhh, all iPhones have a camera.

If you have adequate lighting, the camera is really good for a camera phone. It is the same camera as the 3G.

I am glad I wasn't the only one who thought that the iPhone camera wasn't bad at all if taken correctly.

Thank you very much fireshot91 for answering everything!

I know I seem ignorant to everything about iPhone but you see i've been in the dark with sprint for years. But my contract is expiring next month and i'd really like something new.

if I have a jailbroken/unlocked iphone that I recieved for free(its 2nd generation) and my friend already has an iphone/at&t plan.. how much do you believe it might cost me to add myself onto his plan? (I don't want a 2 year contract with AT&T if this is possible..

do they REQUIRE a contact to use iphone?

No you don't need a contract.

Since it's second gen. You'll have to pay 20$ (That includes x minutes, a unlimited data plan, and 200 txts).

If its the 3G, You'll have to pay 30$ for the minutes, 3G Data plan.

Give Sprint a call. They have a policy now that you can terminate your contract 30 days before the actual expiration date without paying the early termination fee.
