Does anyone know if there is a way to share your iPhone connection (iPhone connected to MacBook via usb) using yosemite's internet sharing? It looks like you can do it, but when I try to then the ssid doesn't show up. Maybe I'm doing something wrong?? Has anyone done this?

I like to use usb to connect my iPhone's wireless. Using the instant hotspot feature on the iPhone is hit or miss.

"When Personal Hotspot is on, your iOS device automatically shares your Internet connection with your computer when you connect using USB. For example, when you connect your iPhone to your computer to charge or sync with iTunes" from https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT203302

Make sure Personal Hotspot is on prior to plugging your iOS device into your Mac, and you are set. Personal Hotspot≠Instant Hotspot.
