iPhone will not connect

iPhone will not connect to computer or show up in iTunes.

For some reason I cannot get it to connect so I can update my email list on the phone.

I am NOT running 3.0.

I'm connecting the phone using the USB cable that came with it and never have had this problem before. The computer or iTunes does not show it connected at all.

I have connected it and then turned the phone on, connected the USB cable, then the phone all to no avail.

Well, this is problem usually means a fault with the USB cable, the USB port or the Mac.
If you can, see if it works on a Windows PC.

I use a PC running Vista and never have had a problem. Other devices are also working on the front two USB ports.

I am using the cable that came with the phone and it charges the phone just fine.

Well I just plugged it in with my cable from my iPod and now it everything works fine.

I guess the cable for the phone is only good for charging now.
